Do your HIIT workout on the TV
Build a workout on your phone or laptop, then put it on the TV. The countdown is huge, the moves are animated from two angles, and the next move shows up before you need it, so you can read it all from the other side of the room.
Three ways to get it on the TV
- Chromecast or Google TV: open HIIT Builder in Chrome on a laptop, then open the ⋮ menu, choose Cast, and pick your TV. Casting a tab sends the sound too.
- Apple TV or an AirPlay TV: on an iPhone, iPad or Mac, use Screen Mirroring from Control Center and pick your TV.
- HDMI cable: plug your laptop into the TV. It's the most reliable option, with no lag and nothing to pair.
If your TV has its own web browser, you can also try opening hiitbuilder.app on it directly.
Then go full screen
On the timer, press Full screen (or the F key) to hide the browser bars. Space starts and pauses, and the right arrow skips, so a wireless keyboard or a laptop on the coffee table works as a remote. The screen stays awake while the timer runs.
Why it works well on a big screen
- The seconds are the biggest thing on screen, coloured by phase: work, rest, get ready.
- Every move is drawn as a moving figure from two camera angles, so you can see the form without squinting at a video.
- The next move is named before each rest ends, so you're never stuck looking for what's coming.
- No ads popping up halfway through a set, and no app to install on the TV.
Questions
- Can I cast a HIIT workout to my TV for free?
- Yes. HIIT Builder is free and runs in a browser, so anything that can show a browser tab on your TV works: Chromecast, AirPlay mirroring or an HDMI cable.
- Do I need to install an app on my TV?
- No. The workout runs on your phone or laptop and the TV just shows it.
- Will the sound play through the TV?
- With an HDMI cable, AirPlay mirroring or Chrome tab casting, usually yes. If not, the beeps still play from the device running the timer.
